Children’s Liturgy of the Word:
Jesus and Thomas (John 20: 19-31)
Sunday, April 27, 2025
During the April's Liturgy of the Word, over 35 children reflected on this theme of "Believe without seeing." They heard the Gospel reading and discussed how it relates to their own lives. To deepen this reflection, they participated in an activity where they felt different objects hidden in a bag, trying to identify them without seeing. Many identified a cross, a rosary, and other spiritual items, symbolizing the presence of God in everyday life. This activity served as a reminder that while we cannot see God physically, we can experience His presence through our senses—through the beauty of creation, acts of kindness, and the good things He provides. Just as Thomas came to believe through an encounter with Jesus, we too are invited to trust and believe in God's presence, even when we cannot see Him with our eyes.
They received their worksheets to take home to reflect on readings, a color page and word search related to the Gospel of Sunday. Many even won prizes for explaining how the Gospel can be experienced in their own lives.
