Don Bosco Mission Center

The Don Bosco Mission Center, located in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, is a Salesian center that focuses on serving the poor and marginalized, particularly young people, through education and social outreach. It's part of the larger Salesians of Don Bosco organization, a Catholic religious order dedicated to youth ministry.

The Don Bosco Mission Center engages in various activities, including:

  • Outreach to the homeless: They organize monthly food outreaches, distributing meals to people experiencing homelessness on Skid Row and in other needy areas.

  • Serving meals: The center prepares and distributes food, often with the help of volunteers.

  • Educational initiatives: Don Bosco's legacy emphasizes education, and the center likely provides educational programs and resources.

  • Spiritual formation: They offer opportunities for spiritual growth and reflection, including celebrating religious holidays and promoting devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

  • Community building: The center fosters a sense of community through retreats and other events.

Don’t forget the Mission Center staff would love your help in providing hygiene kit bags for those experiencing homelessness and in need. Many of these items can be found at Costco, Target, or similar stores—or you might even have a few travel-size toiletries from hotel stays that you’d like to share!

They are especially in need of travel-size items such as:

• Body wash

• Shampoo

• Conditioner

• Toothpaste

• Toothbrush

• Sunscreen

• Lip balm

• Baby wipes
