Children’s Liturgy of the Word:
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
(John 14: 23-29)
Sunday, May 25, 2025
Today in Children’s Liturgy of the Word, we explored John 14:23–29, where Jesus offers His disciples two lasting gifts: Peace and the Holy Spirit.
To bring this passage to life, we did a fun and meaningful activity. When we heard the word "Storm", we jumped around and made lots of noise—just like the chaos we sometimes feel inside. But when we heard the word "Peace", we froze, stood still, and became quiet—reminding us of the calm that Jesus brings.
We discussed how Jesus promised His disciples that even though He would return to the Father, He would not leave them alone. God the Father would send the Holy Spirit, the Helper, to teach them and help them remember everything Jesus had taught.
This passage reminds us that even when we feel like there’s a storm in our hearts or minds, we can always find comfort in the peace Jesus leaves us and trust that the Holy Spirit will guide us.
